Tippet or Preaching Scarf
The tippet or preaching scarf is worn by Anglican clergy as an alternative to the stole with Choir dress and also by clergy in various
Protestant denominations.
Anglican priest and deacons weare a black scarf (unless they are wearing a stole) while licensed readers wear a blue scarf. Unlike a stole if a deacon wears a scarf they wear it over both sholders. Protestant ministers of certain denominations such as the Church of Scotland wear a black scarf simmilar to Anglican priests and deacons.
